The Liberty State Department of Public Safety (DPS) is responsible for law enforcement, emergency response, and public security within the county. It oversees Patrol Operations, Special Operations, and Administrative Operations to ensure public safety and uphold the law.
Here at DPS, we are committed to serving and protecting our community with integrity and professionalism. Our officers undergo rigorous training and are held to the highest standards of conduct.
DPS operates across all areas of Liberty County, responding to calls ranging from routine traffic stops to large-scale tactical operations alongside our specialist divisions.
Chain of Command
The DPS chain of command ensures clear structure and accountability across all operations.
Special Units
DPS operates specialist divisions for high-risk and complex operations beyond standard patrol.
The SRU team handles high-risk tactical operations including armed standoffs, hostage situations, and large-scale criminal operations that exceed the capability of standard patrol units.
The HSU team provides rapid specialist response to critical incidents such as pursuits, shootings, across Liberty County. Trained for unique environments and scenarios requiring specialised skills, equipment and vehicles.
The CIU department investigates high risk criminals, factions, illegal activities in attempt to take them down and bring justice.
